Red Velvet Crispy Cookies

You Need:

1 tbsp semi-sweet chocolate chips or nutella

1/2 cup butter (softened)

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup powdered sugar

1 egg (at room temperatur­e)

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 and 3/4 cups all purpose flour 1/4 cup cocoa powder

1/4 tsp salt

1 tsp baking soda

2 and 1/2 tbsp red food colouring 1 cup powdered sugar

You Must:

Melt semi-sweet chocolate chips in a double broiler or in a heat-proof pan over simmering water. Put aside until it reaches room temperatur­e.

Mix butter and sugar with an electric mixer or with a spatula until creamy. Beat egg in another bowl and add it to the mixture.

Add melted chocolate, vanilla and red food colouring and mix well. Mix flour, cocoa powder, salt, baking soda in a separate bowl and gradually add in the butter mixture. Freeze the dough at least for 1 hour. Pre-heat oven to 350° F. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper and set aside.

Scoop out 1 tbsp of dough and make it a ball. Put 1 cup powdered sugar in a bowl and roll the cookie ball into the powdered sugar.

Place the cookie ball on the parchment paper and bake each for 11 minutes.

Remove from oven and leave it on the baking paper for 5 minutes.
