What prompted you to become an interior stylist?
I have always been in the design fraternity. I did the styling for our own personal home in Khandala, which got me appreciations from friends and family. My husband Suniel saw tremendous potential in me as a stylist and he pushed me to take up styling. It was completely a new line, however, encouragement from family helped me to grow.
What is your specialisation?
Styling is my specialisation. I am not a qualified interior decorator, nor do I call myself one. I like more being a stylist as I like all things beautiful. Give me an empty room, I will do my best to perfection.
Who are your icons and inspirations?
Over the years you look up to a lot of people as you keep on growing up. I would say my teachers and my professors had a great impact in moulding me. All the beautiful things in India inspire me. I always look up to my parents – they are my strength and my biggest inspiration.
What is the first thing you do everyday?
Thoughts run through my mind about the things that I have to do and the targets that I have set for the day. I thank God for another lovely day in my life. I think about the busy day that lies ahead. As each day is different, I passionately look forward to the challenges to keep on doing better.
Advice to young talents?
Just be true to yourself. Be honest to your client, and always give your hundred per cent to your work. Never be judgmental and remain focused.
