Launched in 2014, Orange Tree creates contemporary craft with a global appeal. With a known name in the Indian market for their innovative designs in lighting and wall decor, the brand’s USP lies in using sustainable materials. “It’s a response to the needs and problems our world is facing today. It has to go beyond aesthetics by using natural materials for fibers, built to last,” says Nikhita Bansal, Head of Design, Lighting, Orange Tree. The brand is focused on getting endless traditional craft skills adapted to contemporary design and making them saleable locally as well as internationally. Their recently introduced furniture range Toshi sideboard and Kite bar unit are must-have pieces for any home. Celebrating industrial feel with a glamourous look, the sideboard is crafted in acacia wood with a cement finish to the two door design, whereas the bar unit showcases chevron pattern in a most exciting design.
The Yard House was born out of a personal need for a product that didn’t exist. A mother of two, a decor enthusiast and juggling consultancy on the side, Indira Raman knew that maintaining table linen is a hassle. Though the plastic sheet was not an environment-friendly option for her, but she wanted something that would protect from the innumerable spills that happen throughout the day. A hunt to create a product went through various research, multiple trials, coatings, designs and finally, a successful round of consumer and lab testing. The Yard house brings you a range of wipeable and anti-slip cotton table covers which is hand-block or ikat printed, woven with indigenous techniques and patterns and coated for performance. This revolutionary product combines aesthetics with added functionality of being spill and stain resistant. The Yard House visions to extend into the entire category of home furnishings and accessories.
