After ‘inauguration’ by Cong leader, govt officially opens flyover to public
A DAY after former Congress MP Mahabal Mishra ‘inaugurated’ the 3.4 km elevated corridor between Vikaspuri and Meera Bagh, the Delhi government officially threw open the flyover to the public. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, PWD Minister Satyendar Jain and AAP MLAS attended the event.
The government said it had saved Rs 110 crore on the construction. The estimated cost of the flyover was Rs 508 crore. Kejriwal used the stage to not just congratulate the PWD, but also to talk about the arrests of two AAP MLAS. “The big achievement here is that the PWD has completed the flyover on time... The PMO’S secretary is monitoring every file and conducting inquires. Despite this, they were unable to find a single rupee’s worth of corruption...” said Kejriwal.
Jain said, “A few days ago, PM (Narendra) Modi went to Bihar to inaugurate a flyover. This flyover had an estimated cost of Rs 600 crore but the money spent on it was Rs 3,000 crore, and it was 5 years late. The MCD has been constructing a flyover on Rani Jhansi road for the last 12 years...”
