Maya: BJP, SP together aiding Dayashankar

Lucknow: BSP chief Mayawati Sunday defended her party leaders who had reportedly raised “obscene” slogans during a protest in Lucknow and said that the FIR against her was a “conspiracy” by the BJP to “save” its expelled leader Dayashankar Singh.

Mayawati, who announced rallies across Uttar Pradesh against the “tacit understanding” between BJP and Samajwadi Party, beginning August 21, said that Dayashankar has not yet been arrested because Akhilesh Yadav government was “under pressure from the BJP”.

She said the BJP had “directed Dayashankar” to make “demeaning” remarks against her because she had been raising the issue of attacks on Dalits in Bjpruled Gujarat.

She said it would have been better had Dayashankar’s mother lodged an FIR against her own son. ENS
