Hold SAARC meet without Pak, says Cong

New Delhi: A day after India announced that it will not take part in the SAARC summit in Islamabadi­nnovember,thecongres­son Wednesday asked the Centre to explore the possibilit­y of holding a SAARC summit without Pakistan.“shouldtheg­overnmentn­ot explore the possibilit­y of actually having a SAARC summit minus Pakistan... Would that not make a better case for the isolation of Pakistan?” Congress leader Manish Tewari asked.

The Opposition party, meanwhile, continued its criticism of the NDA government’s response totheurite­rrorattack.tewarisaid the Centre is “scrambling for a coherent response” even 10 days after the attack. He said so far, the government’s response to the attackhas“swungfromt­hesublime to the ridiculous”. ENS
