- EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE

SEVEN MONTHS after a Congolese national was killed over hiring an autorickshaw at Kisangarh area, Delhi Police have arrested the third and final accused in the case. The accused, identified as Mukesh Kumar Vishnoi, along with his two accomplices, had allegedly killed Masonda Ketada Olivier, in south Delhi on May 20.

The incident took place around 11.44 pm near a CNG petrol pump when all three accused, allegedly drunk, wanted to hire the same auto as the victim, which led to a brawl.

Police said when passersby intervened, they too were roughed up. The victim was taken to AIIMS trauma centre, where he was declared brought dead.

Soon after the incident, two accused — Mobin Azad Saifi and Prakash — were arrested but Vishnoi remained at large. He stopped using his cellphone and kept changing his address frequently to avoid detection. A reward of Rs 20,000 was announced after he was declared a proclaimed offender by the court on November 8.

South District DCP Romil Baniya, whose team arrested the accused, said they received information that Vishnoi will come from Jaipur to Mathura on December 6. “At around 3.30 am, we arrested him from Mathura bus stand,” the DCP said.

He added that Vishnoi used to live in Mumbai between 2007 and 2013 and worked in private companies.

Since 2014, he was involved in cheating cases in Delhi. He was arrested in 2015 by Delhi Police’s Crime Branch for providing fake bank accounts.
