‘THIS CAN’T GO ON, RULING SIDE MUST TAKE INITIATIVE’

-

The JD(U) has sent conflicting signals; where does the party stand on demonetisation?

The JD(U) backs this move to unearth black money. But it is also true implementation was not done properly, otherwise people would not have had to face such inconvenience.

When most parties say they are not against the move, why are they disrupting Parliament?

This has been a trend in Parliament for 15-20 years. Earlier the BJP did it, now the Congress is paying it back in the same coin.

Where will disruption lead ?

Everyone has to find a way out together. Parliament functioning this way cannot be allowed forever.

Who is responsible for it?

Of course, the party in power has to take the initiative. During A B Vajpayee’s time as PM, whenever there were disruptions the then floor managers of the ruling party used to get in touch with Opposition members. Such prolonged disruptions did not happen then.

Will this stalemate end?

I believe the ruling side should take a fresh initiative. Ultimately the issue needs to be discussed by both sides. How long can you go on...?
