Jarnail Singh resigns, to fight Punjab polls

-

New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party, which has fielded its Rajouri Garden MLA Jarnail Singh against Punjab CM Parkash Singh Badal at his home turf in Punjab, is set to lose one legislator in Delhi as Singh resigned Tuesday. This brings the party’s strength down to 66.

While the party is optimistic that Singh will put up stiff competition in the upcoming polls in Punjab on February 4, it will have to guard its Rajouri Garden seat if Singh does win.

“One of our soldiers has gone to Punjab to fight it out. To protest against the corruption of the Akalis, we are ready to make sacrifices. He is doing so well that the Badals are not being allowed to enter the villages. We will have six months before the seat has to be filled. We will take a call once the Punjab elections are over,” said Dilip Pandey, AAP Delhi unit convenor. ENS
