Surat ‘hooch toll’ rises to 6

Surat: Sixpeoplehavedied in Surat. Forensic tests confirmed presence of toxic methanol in the blood of two of the six while reports of the rest were still awaited. Police have asked doctors to report to them any suspected case of methanol or alcohol poisoning. Three deaths were reported on Monday. All the three had consumed the liquor on Sunday. Four more deaths due to suspected consumption of spurious liquor were reported on Tuesday. ENS
