World C’ship medallists pull out of youth natls

Young Indian pugilists put up spirited performances to reach the second round on a busy day at the Youth Men's and Women's National Boxing Championship in Delhi on Tuesday. The event, however, lost some sheen with the pullout of world champion Sachin Siwach (49kg) and bronze-medallist Naman Tanwar (91kg). In men's light fly division, Tamil Nadu's B Ramakrishnan defeated Haryana's Nishat Dev 4-1, Punjab's Shubham edged out Manipur's Poonam M Singh 3-2, while Services Sports Control Board's Barun Singh thrashed Orissa's Santosh Bhoi 5-0.
