Video shows SAD MP in ‘compromising position’
MP calls it ‘fake video’, blames Sukhbir
SAD MP Sher Singh Ghubaya has courted controversy after a four-and-a-half minute video, where he is purportedly seen in a “compromising position” with a woman at a hotel, has gone viral.
The Ferozepur MP, who is campaigning for his son contesting on a Congress ticket from Fazilka, blamed Deputy CM Sukhbir Singh Badal for the video. Ghubaya, who shared the stage with Congress in Jalalabad, said, “SAD is staring at defeat in Jalalabad and Fazilka and is now resorting to blackmail and pressure tactics to hurt my character.”
Accusing Sukhbir and his team, Ghubaya said, “The SAD leadership is deliberately leaking a fake CD just ahead of the election to defame me. I was being blackmailed earlier, too, and when I did not pay heed to them, they leaked it. It is unfortunate that SAD is resorting to below-the-belt tactics."
Once a close confidant of Sukhbir, Ghubaya said, “Sukhbir will lose from Jalalabad; and SAD will lose from Fazilka.”
Ghubaya, who was sitting next to Jalalabad's Congress candidate Ravneet Singh Bittu to address the media, said, “I have a big threat to my life and I demand central forces for my security. I have full faith in people; they understand that these are the mischievous motives of SAD.”
Demanding investigation by any central agency into this episode, Bittu supported Ghubaya.
The Ferozepur MP has not resigned from SAD but is actively campaigning for son Devinder Ghubaya, a Congress candidate. He said, “I will remain in SAD till my full term as MP and I will fight them politically. SAD will be completely wiped out from these two constituencies.fearingthis,theyaretrappingme."
Bittu said, “This is an undemocratic way to tarnish the character of any individual and this clearly shows SAD’S frustration in Jalalabad and Fazilka. I demand the intervention of the Election Commission into this CD episode and investigation by any central agency into this fake CD, which has gone viral on social media.”
