Failed to improve the party's tally in Beed, with the NCP emerging as the biggest party in the zilla parishad. Munde, who is involved in a feud with her estranged cousin senior NCP leader Dhananjay Munde, offered to resign as minister after the poor showing. Managed to retain his hold over Sindhudurg zilla parishad, with the Congress winning 27 of the 50 seats up for grabs. The tally is less than 2012, when the Congress won 33 seats.

Managed to retain control over rural Pune, notching a win of 44 zilla parishad seats as against 42 in 2012. The NCP seems to have performed relatively better in rural parts of Pawar's turf even as it lost the Pune Municipal Corporation.

The eldest son of late CM Vilasrao Deshmukh could not retain his hold in Latur and managed to win only 15 seats as against 35 in 2012. former Maharashtra CM failed to make an impact in his home district of Satara, where his party won only six seats --- a massive dip from the 21 it had won when he was CM. Suffered a resounding defeat at the Solapur Municipal Corporation after two decades. Shinde has gradually been losing hold over his home district after losing the Lok Sabha elections 2014.
