735 cellphones recovered as police bust gang

New Delhi: Police have busted a gang of thieves who used to sell stolen mobile phones after erasing their IMEI numbers. Police have recovered 735 high-end mobile phones worth Rs 1.30 crore from their possession.

DCP (southeast) Romil Baaniya said, “One of the arrested accused is an engineer who runs a shop in Karol Bagh and allegedly used to change the IMEIS of stolen mobile phones before restoring them to factory settings.” ENS
