BJP kicks off new campaign to go door-to-door, distribute voter slips

- EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE

TWO WEEKS before the Capital goes to polls on May 25, the BJP kick-started a campaign to distribute voter slips among people in different booths on Sunday.

Party workers distributed the slips in Dilshad Colony, Rohini Sector 16, Delhi Gate, Punjabi Bagh, Yamuna Vihar, Shastri Park, Sitaram Colony, and Lakshmi Nagar, among other areas.

The candidates also participated in the campaign by distributing the slips in one locality each from their respective constituencies; Manoj Tiwari distributed the slips in Kadipur; Ramvir Singh Bidhuri in Sriniwaspuri; Harsh Malhotra in New Ashok Nagar; Yogender Chandoliya in Rohini East; Kamaljeet Sehrawat in Bindapur; Bansuri Swaraj in Chanakyapuri; and Praveen Khandelwal in Sitaram Bazar.

“The strongest pillar of any election is the booth without which success in any election is difficult,” Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva said while launching the campaign as he visited Malhotra’s constituency and pasted candidates' stickers outside houses.

Sachdeva said the party's intention is to reach every voter through booth-level heads and make them aware of the 10 years of work done by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Meanwhile, BJP’S National General Secretary Dushyant Gautam said this time, the election would be between corruption and actual work. “On one hand, there is an alliance that is in coalition only to hide their corruption, and on the other hand, there is the Modi government, which has done a number of development works in the last 10 years — that could not be done in the last 70 years,” he said.

“The alliance between the Congress and the AAP is to advance the politics of corruption... (Arvind) Kejriwal government in Delhi only tells lies and plans conspiracies on how to do corruption in every scheme,” BJP’S Lok Sabha in-charge Om Prakash Dhankar claimed.
