PAYING THE PRICE
Amar Singh may have shifted out of his bungalow on Lodhi Road after he lost his Rajya Sabha seat, but his troubles have not ended there. He was then asked to pay the price for dismantling all the changes he had made to the CPWDfurnished bungalow. This included all the marble and granite fittings, amongst other things. The bill for downgrading the bungalow to its CPWD look — Rs 8 lakh — has landed at Singh’s new doorstep. He has paid the bill, but is left wondering if there is any logic behind all this. He is not the only one. A former UPA Cabinet minister too had to dismantle the Jacuzzi in his bathroom before handing over his bungalow to his successor. Clearly, government works in mysterious ways.
