Manish unhappy in congress, eyes non-BJp options
Manish Tewari, former Information and Broadcasting Minister and Congress spokesperson for eight years, is thinking of joining a non-Congress, non-BJP party. One of Congress’ bright stars, Tewari is feeling suffocated as his detractors have been after him for not contesting the Lok Sabha elections last year, which he gave a miss because of his ill health. There is speculation that his detractors are misleading party vice president Rahul Gandhi about him and that his services to the party are not being recognised. Tewari’s supporters say that it was because of the work done by this former Ludhiana MP (2009-2014) that the present Congress MP from Ludhiana, Ravneet Singh Bittu won the elections in 2014 despite a strong anti-Congress wave.
