How removed from the real world is the world of high fashion? A lady journalist who had gone to attend the opening of hairstylist Ambika Pillai’s new store, Style Loft in New Delhi, heard someone from the well-heeled hautecouture-wearing crowd asking about her, “Yeh kiski nanny hai (whose nanny is she)?” Her only fault was that she had landed there straight from office, in her regular work clothes.
