Introducing Apple Music
Here we are, celebrating the release of not new music, but a new music listening service. It is what it is, but Apple Music, which was launched to much fanfare this past week, does seem worth the hype. Somewhat. For starters, it’s available in India too. At a fairly affordable Rs 120 a month (12 packets of the now defunct Maggi), you get an individual membership, gaining access to the immense — and we mean immense — Apple Music library; there’s practically everything ever made available on it. Plus you get recommendations from them, if you’re interested in that stuff, and access to the specially curated radio stations they provide as well. So it’s a good deal no doubt, while an even better deal is the family pack, at Rs 190 a month for a package that entails easy listening for ma, pa, grandma, grandpa and one sibling of your choice, plus you.
Further, you can also save music for offline listening when the internet is down, bypassing the number one problem with streaming on average internet connections. And the fact that you can use Apple Music across all Apple devices means further incentive to purchase an iPad, iPod, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, iPhone, even the Apple Watch. It is what it is.
