Rugs by Obeetee fit for the Queen

- BY OUR CORRESPONDENT

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II can be counted as a fan of their products. Obeetee, a manufacturer of hand-made rugs has come up with a new collection that has rugs in geometrical patterns, refurbished Persian designs, and more, all hand-woven in different designs. There are around 4,000 shades of wool to pick from, and the rugs have used a variety of textures for different parts of the house. The premium carpets and rugs have been crafted out of fine fabric, and stand out as testimony to Obeetee’s quality and cultural heritage. These rugs are environment friendly, and have been produced in power independent mills run from gas derived from biomass. The company has existed for over hundred years now, and has studied the various techniques of carpet making, employing tradi- tional artisans from across the country. They have been employing carpet weavers from all over the world, and these are designed in-house by their inspired design department, and then dyed in a state-of-the-art dyeing plant.

Obeetee also runs a “Bid for Change” online charity auction, as part of their socially conscious company ethic. Under the auction, one can bid for some of their premium limited edition rugs featured on their website at base prices and the company would then proceed to donate 100 per cent of the proceeds to a charity organisation that the customer chooses out of the ones that Obeetee supports. These organizations include The Project Mala Schools, Pratham innovative educational organization, Ramakrishna Mission worldwide non-political organization and Gopepur Village.
