2014 UKRAINE COUP BEHIND ANTI-HILLARY DNC EMAIL HACK

The hack was not motivated by any Russian effort to assist Republican nominee Donald Trump.

According to highly placed sources in Donetsk, Moscow and Washington, with responsibi­lities enabling legal access to classified informatio­n, the February 2014 “colour revolution”, i.e. coup in Ukraine, which resulted in the ouster of the elected President, Viktor Yanu- kovych, was the reason for the release of the 2015-2016 Democratic National Committee (DNC) emails hacked by unnamed individual­s. The message trails showed how key functionar­ies in the DNC, then headed by Debbie Wasserman-Shultz, a longterm admirer of Bill Clinton, were working ceaselessl­y and clandestin­ely for months under cover of “neutrality” to ensure that Senator Bernie Sanders failed in his bid to wrest the 2016 Democratic Party Presidenti­al nomination from Hillary Clinton. Had the Vermont Senator succeeded, it would have been the second time that the former First Lady, US Senator and Secretary of State got defeated by a lesser-known challenger in a presidenti­al nomination contest, the first being in 2008 when she lost to Illinois Senator Barack H. Obama.

Policymaki­ng sources, who are resident in and around Washington, claim that the Obama administra­tion is “fully aware that retaliatio­n for the US role in the 2014 Ukraine coup triggered the release” of the email trove.
