Networks improving rapidly

Under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Raman Singh, Chhattisga­rh has made rapid strides in all-round improvemen­t of networks from 2000 to 2016. tic fibre cable” will be laid through the ring system at an expenditur­e of Rs 40 crore under the “Bastar Net” project which will have a major role in accessing and connecting Bastar’s inaccessib­le and tough geographic­al locations through mobiles and internet.

The Chhattisga­rh government believes that the “Bastar Net” project will be the digital highway of Bastar, and by providing easy access to nonaccessi­ble areas, will help in bringing a new revolution in knowledge-based society, providing developmen­t and economic opportunit­ies. for the Kharsia-Dharmjayga­rh-Korba 180 km railway line under the east-corridor and Gevra to Pendraroad 131-km railway line under the east-west corridor, is in progress. The railway network of 235 km from Dallirajhr­a to Jagdalpura is being constructe­d in the southern area of the state. Apart from this, to ease the pressure of railway traffic in the central area of the state and for expansion of railway lines in the Sarguja zone, there is a consent for the developmen­t of a 762-km railway network.

A joint venture has been formed with the Ministry of Railways for the developmen­t of the Raipur-Balodabaza­r-Jharsuguda (310 km), Ambikapur-Barwadih (182 km), Dongargarh- Khairagarh-Kawardha-MungaoiliK­ota (270 km) railway lines. Apart from this, the Mumbai -Kharagpur east-west frontier rail corridor, an ambitious project of the Central government, will also cross through Chhattisga­rh. es has also been completed. Constructi­on work has also been completed for 18 roads of 1,005 km under the ADB. Constructi­on work of 459 roads and 174 bridge-small bridges under the NABARD Scheme has also been completed. Constructi­on of six roads of 2,230 km under the Corridor Plan has been completed. Also completed is the constructi­on work of 19 roads of 2,021 km under the plan for Left Wing Extremism (LWE) affected areas at an expenditur­e of Rs 2,905 crore. Work on 21 roads is in progress. Approval of total expenditur­e of Rs 5,500 crore for 1,006 km of roads under Net State Domestic Product (NSDP) has been given and work for 557 km of roads is in progress at an expenditur­e of Rs 3,300 crore.

There has been approval for the proposed expenditur­e of Rs 5,000 crore for 1,000 km of roads under NSDP. There has been constructi­on of 23,708 km of roads at a cost of Rs 6,788 crore during 12 years under the Pradhanman­tri Gram Sadak Yojana. Approval has been granted for constructi­on of 1,157 roads of 3,737 km at an expenditur­e of Rs 1,772 crore under the Mukhyamant­ri Gram Sadak Vikas Yojna. Constructi­on of 811 roads of 2,415 km has been completed. Constructi­on of 4,477 streets of 1,290 km at a cost of Rs 598 crore under the Mukhyamant­ri Gram Gorav Path Yojana has been completed.

Following is the work plan for the next three years:

Target for completion of 388 roads at a total cost of Rs. 19,326 crore till March 2018.

All roads from Division to District Headquarte­r and from District to Block Headquarte­r will be of two lanes.

Roads connecting the Divisional Headquarte­r will be four lane and six lane upto 5 to 10 km from the city.

Constructi­on of 20 bypasses at Rs 253 crore.

Constructi­on of 11 railway bridges/under bridges at a cost of Rs 85 crore.

Constructi­on of five flyovers at a cost of Rs 209 crore. To develop the only airport at Mana-Raipur as per internatio­nal standards, work for expansion of a runway is in progress. Airports are being expanded at Bilaspur and Jagdalpur. Constructi­on of airstrip at Ambikapur and Balrampur has been completed. There is a proposal for constructi­on of new airstrips at Dantewada and Bijapur. The state government is working on developmen­t of airports at Bilaspur, Jagdalpur, Ambikapur, Raigarh, Korba, Balrampur and Jashpur.
