ELP fest: The perfect hangout for food lovers

Eat Love Party ( ELP), a first-of-its-kind food festival, serving gastronomi­c delights with oodles of fun, is finally here in your town. The festival, which opened on 3 November, culminates this Sunday. Organised by Jai Sharma, Saurabh Mehta and Aashish Sharma of the ITE Group, the three-day event, in addition to serving a variety of delicacies, also offers many exciting activities for visitors, including standup comedy acts, live cooking sessions by celebrity chefs, open-air silent movie screenings and 10 hours of live entertainm­ent by the country’s top artists.

Singer Akhil Sachdeva (of “Humsafar” fame from the movie Badrinath Ki Dulhania) will also be performing at the event. Excited about his performanc­e at the fest, Sachdeva said, “Live performanc­e at bigger youth festivals is always encouragin­g and great fun. It brings out the best performer within you, as it is the opportunit­y to connect directly with the youth. Hence, I always love to participat­e in such festivals.”

All music lovers excited to enjoy their favourite food with some real Punjabi tracks can also look forward to performanc­es by Harrdy Sandhu and Guru Randhawa. DJ Amit B., DJ YOGII, DJ Ijay, DJ Hitesh and other bands will also get you grooving.

Famous restro bars across the city-Ministry of Beer, Local, The Junction, The Flying Saucer, Wiser Miser, The Lanterns, Bombay Bar, Imly and others—have also set up their own food stalls and can be seen performing live cooking sessions at the fest which is a huge crowd puller.

Meet Malhotra, Executive Brand Chef at Ministry of Beer Gurgaon and CP quotes, “The idea of making food at live sessions makes you competent enough to make food that suits each and every taste plus you get audience with wider age group. It also brings us together on common platform with other renowned chefs and brands, hence making us learn better on the new techniques and cuisines.”

Standup comedy acts by Abhishek Upmanyu, Vipul Goyal, Rahul Dua, Sapan Verma and many more are lined up for all the three days. Open air silent movie screenings have also been scheduled for all the movie junkies. The extensive list includes 15 films, including movies from all genres, from Sanam Re, All is Well, Airlift, Aashiqui 2 to Hindi Medium and others.

“With ELP we intend to bring about a revolution in the food festival industry by bringing together the entire family to ‘eat’ as much as they like, ‘party’… which is what the spirit of ELP stands for,” says a spokespers­on from ITE Group. He further adds, “We already have our expansion plans set in stone and in 2018, we intend to take ELP to pan India cities famous for their culinary heritage namely Kolkata, Pune, Jaipur, Ludhiana, Chandigarh, Hyderabad and the annual edition being held in Noida.”
