SPENCER TO FEATURE JACK FARTHING AS PRINCE CHARLES
LOS ANGELES: Pablo Larraín’s “Spencer” has casted the English actor Jack Farthing as Prince Charles. Larraín has been filming “Spencer” in Germany however the production has now moved to the U.K. to commence the next phase of shooting. 35 year old Farthing has played a myriad famous roles including the character of the villain George Warleggan in the BBC One drama series Poldark.
Spencer, starring Twillight actress Kristen Stewart and Jack farthing is a story set in December, 1991 when the Prince and Princess of Wales’ marriage has long since grown cold. Though rumors of affairs and a divorce abound, peace is ordained for the Christmas festivities at Sandringham Estate. “There’s eating and drinking, shooting and hunting” reads the synopsis, “Diana knows the game. This year, things will be a whole lot different.”
Farthing is best known for his performances on television series such as “Blandings” and the BBC One drama “Poldark”. Besides, the actor’s film credits include last year’s time-loop Netflix romantic comedy “Love Wedding Repeat.”
Spencer is expected to be in theatres in fall 2021, as the next year marks the 25th anniversary of Diana’s death. The princess, who was mother to Prince Harry and Prince William, died in a car accident following a paparazzi chase in Paris in the autumn of 1997.
