Vikas Sharma is the new Sales Manager for North India at career over a decade ago at Wish Bone India Travels. Over the years, he has headed Operations Group and FIT Reservatio­ns with Dubai DMCs like Dubai Specialist. He also handled Cultural Exchange and Promotions Tourism at The Embassy of Czech Republic in New Delhi. In his current role Sharma will be responsibl­e to drive sales and marketing and revenues in the region.

Chandra Shekhar has completed his Post Graduate Diploma in Management from the Indian Institute of Tourism & Travel Management (IITTM) in Bhubaneswa­r, Odisha. Armed with a travel degree, Shekhar was earlier working with Sand & Pebbles in Bhubaneswa­r as a Tour and Transport his present capacity.

Ratul Kundu has been appointed as the new Sales Manager with around six years of experience in the travel domain in B2B sales. His prior experience of the eastern market comes from his stint at Cox & Kings, Odisha, from where he started his career. He is not a stranger to the Delhi market as he has worked in the Capital city before as well. He has also worked with online travel service provider — arzoo.com. Kundu will be functionin­g from Kolkata.

Pinki Arora, Marketing Representa­tive for North & East India, Bangladesh & Nepal, Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), says, “The industry has changed over the past few years and has opened up more avenues for women.” On balancing work and personal life, she adds that although the task can be challengin­g, it solely depends on how one organises their lives where family support plays an important role.

Varun Sahani, General Manager, Orchid Hotel, feels “But I make sure that I spend ample time with my wife, son and my little angel. I love to swim and play tennis whenever I can. I also love to cook and whenever I am stressed you will he says. Sahani loves to travel and he remembers being mesmerised by Venice. “But if I have to pick a favourite, it will have to be Kashmir,” he adds.

Aditya Shamsher Malla, General Manager, Four Points by Sheraton, unwinds with a round of golf and cycling with his son. “These are the two best stress-busters for me. One thing I am most passionate about is quality – whether it’s at work or outside it,” he says. Malla loves to travel and cherishes his time off travelling. “One of my most memorable holiday moments is - man’s boat nine nautical miles off the coast to an uninhabite­d island and treated to fresh prawns on feni!”
