There­after, Smith moved to Africa, Hong Kong, Iraq, and Turkey and also es­tab­lished a ho­tel in Iraq for the Turk­ish brand, Di­van. Sub­se­quently, he moved to Azer­bai­jan where he was the open­ing Gen­eral Man­ager of Pik Palace Ho­tel and Park Chalet Ho­tel.
