India, US and Japan plan joint naval exercises
India and the US plan to conduct naval exercises ( Malabar) in the Bay of Bengal in July 2017, this time joined by Japan’s Maritime Self-Defence Force. A planning conference is to be held in the US to confirm the dates and list warships that will take part in the exercise, followed by a final planning conference in India. The exercises could include participation of aircraft carriers, nuclearpowered submarines and frontline warships, as well as P-8s of the Indian and US navies.
