The first Gowind 2500 by DCNS in sea tri­als

DCNS has con­ducted ini­tial sea tri­als of the first of Gowind­class 2500 corvettes un­der con­struc­tion in Lori­ent, France by DCNS. Ten Gowind 2500 corvettes, which will sup­ple­ment DCNS sur­face ves­sels, have been or­dered so far by var­i­ous in­ter­na­tional navies in­clud­ing Egypt and Malaysia.

DCNS is cur­rently com­plet­ing the FREMM Bre­tagne, which was floated on 16 Septem­ber 2016, and is com­plet­ing assem­bly of the FREMM Nor­mandie. Fur­ther­more, work has al­ready started on the ninth FREMM in the se­ries, the Al­sace, which will be one of the two FREMMs with strength­ened anti-air­craft ca­pac­i­ties, whose de­liv­er­ies are sched­uled be­fore 2022.
