THE LEGACY OF SIX

-

The world's most famed purveyor and auction house of fine arts, jewellery, collectibles and much more, Sotheby's in Hong Kong, recently saw an extraordinary sale when The Macallan in Lalique Legacy Collection was sold for USD993,000. The exceptionally collectible set comprises six stunning crystal decanters containing the rarest of The Macallan's single malts aged from 50 to 65 years old. The only collection that has a complete, official set, the Legacy Collection was listed in Sotheby's Finest & Rarest Wines and The Macallan auction in Hong Kong – with all net proceeds donated to Hong Kongbased and other Asian charities.

Marking a collaboration that's been going on for more than a decade between The Macallan and master French crystal maker Lalique, the collection consists of the Six Pillars odyssey, an exclusive series of limited-edition decanters inspired by the foundation stones upon which The Macallan creates its unrivalled whisky collection. Enhancing the set even more exquisitely is the ebony cabinet created by Lalique Maison that houses the collection, six Macallan Fine and Rare miniatures – two from each of the 1937, 1938 and 1939 vintages, six pairs of Lalique Macallan glasses, each serial numbered to celebrate the partnership and autographs of the masters behind the collection. Considering all the wow factors in this rare set, and that the buyer can have their name engraved within the ebony cabinet, this is definitely a one-of-a-kind treasure.
