A tranquil hillside retreat offering seclusion and pampering in luxurious rainforest villas.

Asia Dreams - - ELEGANT ESCAPES -

Drive a short distance north of Ubud village and the bustle of life and hum of traffic fades away to reveal countless rice fields and the quiet, mystical rainforest. Amidst this greenery, hidden from the main road down a winding lane, is Alila Ubud, a modern, luxury resort dotted across the lush, natural landscape.

The resort's rooms and villas are set into the banks of the river valley and paths criss-cross the site providing access to the sculpture garden, bars and restaurants, the wonderful spa and the resort's famed 25m infinity pool, considered one of the most beautiful pools in the world.

The rooms and villas all have panoramic views of the magical Ayung River valley or the tropical forest and our favourites are the Terrace Tree Villas, specifically the 252sq.m two-bedroom tree villa. Designed as an intimate haven of luxury and privacy with its own private entry court and water garden, it has its own private lap pool allowing you to swim above the rich jungle canopy watching the birds and monkeys. A spacious terrace looks out over the alang-alang plantations and rice paddies.

Maximising natural light and views, there is an indoor/outdoor bathroom with a high-ceilinged bedroom opening directly onto the terrace. Beautifully decorated, the interiors are classic Alila with restrained elegance, accented with opulent handwoven textiles from nearby Sideman village and plush Ploh linen on the beds.

If you can tear yourself away from the wonders of your villa, the Alila Ubud

Leisure Concierge's local know-how will be invaluable as you decide what to do and where to explore, or which of the fascinating Alila Experiences you would like to join.
