MADE’S WARUNG
The word “warung” refers to an Indonesian style food-stall, usually found on the side of the road where local people drink their coffee, have a little snack and gossip about day-to-day life in the village. Made’s Warung in Seminyak and Kuta was a little road-side stall just like that in the 1960s and 1970s until the first travellers came to Bali and started to introduce their own cuisine to the restaurant. Surfers, families and expats alike enjoyed trying the variety of grilled sandwiches, pancakes and sushi. Today, Made’s Warung is a must-see place where authentic Balinese dances take place several times per night, and a lively shopping scene features the best of Bali including designer boutiques such as Milo’s and Bin House. The Raffles Bar in Singapore inspired the beautiful bar in the middle of Made’s, while a famous Balinese cocktail known as Arak Madu is the house favourite.
