FULL ON TRANSFORMATION

Following the announcement towards the end of last year that Baselworld has succeeded in synchronizing the dates for its next edition with the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie or SIHH—which has now changed its name to Watches & Wonders Geneva—the Basel fair will transform itself into an experience platform in 2020.

“Our strategy met with strong approval from the exhibitors during the presentations. We will tackle change with vigor and passion,” explained Michel Loris-Melikoff, Managing Director of Baselworld.

Baselworld 2020 will feature numerous innovations such as new event and experience zones like a Retailer Summit,

CEO Talks and a Virtual Reality Zone. The layout of the hall has also been reenvisaged. Gemstone exhibitors will move into Hall 2 and a large area will be reserved for smartwatches and wearables. Furthermore, an “Innovation Square” will be established in Hall 2. On top of that, Baselworld will open its doors with a special offer for end customers and collectors. The next Baselworld will be held from April 30 to May 5, 2020.
