The Weeknd

When “Starboy” came out touting a total of 18 tracks, the album felt a little too stretched out. That is not to say that Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, the Canadian singer’s real name, packed less talent than before, but the tracks where Daft Punk or Lana Del Rey also jammed in proved to be somewhat catchier than his solos. Perhaps given The Weeknd’s various commercial endeavors of late, “Starboy” was dragged down a bit too close to earth.
