“Ghost in the Shell,” which is based on the popular Japanese manga of the same name, had to contend with accusations of whitewashing. Interestingly, many Japanese fans of the franchise don’t seem to mind with Scarlett Johansson being cast in the lead role and are more than impressed with the visuals of the live-action remake. Johansson’s character, The Major, is a human-cyborg hybrid who leads the elite Section 9 unit tasked with fighting cyber criminals and hackers. Now, they are faced with a new enemy hell bent on wiping out advancements in cyber technology by a major robotics company. Naturally, an action-filled adventure ensues.
