Da: Now, “the Path” deals with some heavy—sometimes touchy—issues. Did you have any worries about how the show would be received when you first came on board? Ka:
I think that if you start a project and it feels completely comfortable for you, then it isn’t the right project for you. I agree that it’s a touchy theme and has the potential to be offensive to people, but I don’t think anything in life moves forward without opposition. Entertainment is no different. I’m grateful to be a part of something that has the potential to start a conversation.
I remember reading the script and being absolutely terrified. About five pages into the first episode, I said to myself, “S--t, I’m going to get it in this, aren’t I?” I don’t think I wanted to audition all that badly because it was such painful material for me. Needless to say, I went anyway. I think I made the right choice.
