“Taboo” from BBC One and FX is actually a passion project by actor Tom Hardy who pitched the idea for the show to his dad back in 2007. The father-and-son duo ended up as the series’ creators with the younger Hardy starring in the lead role of James Delaney. The story follows Delaney’s return to London from Africa to inherit his late-father’s shipping empire, which puts him inconflict with the notorious East India Company. Naturally, action and intrigue follow Delaney’s every move.
