In “The Circle,” which based on a novel of the same name by Dave Eggers, two-time Oscar winner Tom Hanks plays as Eamon Bailey, the founder of a powerful digital corporation called The Circle. A recent college graduate named Mae Holland (Emma Watson) takes a job at the company and quickly rises up the ranks, eventually gaining access to The Circle’s foremost technological advances. But it all comes at a cost. The story of “The Circle” mainly revolves around the price of privacy in today’s digital era and the repercussions of sharing (or not sharing) everything online. As summed up by Bailey at the end of the movie’s first official trailer: “Knowing is good, but knowing everything is better.”
