Since be­ing built in 1895, the three ware­houses lo­cated along the Singapore River have un­der­gone var­i­ous changes: As a hot­bed of se­cret so­ci­eties at one point, and liquor dis­til­leries at an­other time. Now in the 21st cen­tury, the façade has been re­mod­eled into The Ware­house Ho­tel ( 320Have­lock­Road,Robert­sonQuay;+656828 0000;the­ware­house­ho­tel.com), a 37-room mod­ern ho­tel by hos­pi­tal­ity com­pany The Lo & Be­hold Group, which worked to­gether with ar­chi­tec­ture stu­dio Zarch and in­te­rior de­sign firm Asy­lum. The rooms are de­signed in muted tones with some of­fer­ing dou­ble-high ceil­ings and in­dus­trial de­tails. The ho­tel’s culi­nary port­fo­lio has been for­mu­lated by the highly-ac­claimed chef WIllin Lou that em­pha­sizes on a mod­ern Singapore spin on tra­di­tional fla­vors.
