Ethnic Ethnology Kenzo
French fashion house launched its new quarterly magazine, dubbed the Kenzo Folio, last April. The Folio is meant to showcase the brand’s latest collections through a series of themes, images and video (which is available on the brand’s official YouTube Channel). For the debut issue, Kenzo worked alongside photographer Ruth Ossai, stylist Ibrahim Kamara and filmmaker Akinola Davies Jr. to capture the indigenous Igbo community in Nsukka, Nigeria. The Folio shows the life of the Igbo, their culture and traditions, while at the same time displaying the house’s spring/summer 2017 collection. Entitled “Gidi gigi bu ugqu eze,” an Igbo proverb that means “unity is strength,” the Folio will be available for purchase in Kenzo stores.
