Serenity and stability were among the ideas Givenchy’s ex-creative director Riccardo Tisci wanted to communicat­e through his spring/ summer 2017 menswear collection. These ideas were expressed through the American dollar bill—literally. Models were seen sporting money-print camouflage, along with symbols of the pyramid and the eye of providence. The words “REAL EYES. REALIZE. REAL EYES.” were inscribed on bags and eyewear retainers. The heavy-duty look was made even sterner with bold metallic zippers and zipper pockets. Checked tops and jackets, along with an army-green checked backpack and boots further strengthen­ed the whole tough and military look, embodying Riccardo Tisci’s idea of the luxurious and resilient modern man.
