The Absolute Gentleman
Putting the “gentle” into “gentleman,” Dunhill London brings masculine elegance to new heights in its Absolute Icon fragrance. Crafted by Carlos Benaïm, the scent is accompanied by a campaign featuring model Andrew Cooper dressed in a simple yet sophisticated white shirt and black tie, visualizing the idea behind the scent: A modern and luxurious gentleman. The main notes consist of things that characterize a gentleman, beginning with black pepper mixed with bergamot for an enticing opening of warmth and spice. It is followed with a sharp saffron smell meshed with black rose and jasmine, creating a dark and deeply sweet scent. All of this is polished off with nuances of Tuscan leather, tobacco leaves and, most unique of all, Oud, which makes the scent animalistic and slightly balsamic. The bittersweet smoky scent of the fragrance adds a layer of mystery, the kind that Al Pacino would wear in his role as Michael Corleone in “The Godfather.”
