Trip to the Moon
Celebrating 60 years of its iconic Speedmaster watch, Omega held a lavish gala dinner on April 26 at London’s Tate Modern. Themed “Lost in Space,” the event paid tribute to the Speedmaster’s unrivalled legacy in space exploration. In tune to the theme of the evening, the venue and dinner presentation were done in a sleek and futuristic style. An impressive centerpiece of 60 of the most important Speedmaster models from 1957 to 2017 was also on display. Hosting the night was Professor Brian Cox who introduced Raynald Aeschlimann, the President and CEO of Omega, to the stage. Raynald graciously welcomed guests with his thoughts about the brand’s most well-known chronograph. George Clooney and Buzz Aldrin, the guests of honor of the star-studded event, then joined him on stage. The “Lost in Space” event concluded with a performance by ESKA, who gave a rousing rendition of David Bowie’s classic song Space Oddity.
