Sony Interactive Entertainment PS4 April 2018 While the title doesn’t include a number and it’s often referred to as “God of War 4,” this game is actually the eighth “God of War” game—both according to release date and chronologically. This time around, Kratos aka the Ghost of Sparta, will trade his iconic double-chained blades for a battle axe and enter the realm of Norse mythology. Another major change is that Kratos now has a son, Atreus, who can harass enemies from a distance with his bow and help with exploration or solving puzzles. This will definitely be a very different “God of War” experience for veterans of the franchise.
