DA MAN

Publisher’s Note

-

or our first proper issue published in 2020, we have some incredible stories. Naoki Kobayashi, who graces the cover of this issue, has recently broken into the global movie industry. We also have an interview with Camrus Johnson from the “Batwoman” TV series and, on the home front, we’re touching base again with seasoned actor and all-around gentleman

Rio Dewanto.

In a surprising twist, what really resonated with me was chat talk with Santiago Carbrera about his involvement in “Star Trek: Picard.” So, here we have a well-established setting with a very familiar premise, an incredibly loyal fanbase and top-notch talent. Yet, as Carbrera pointed out, the new show is “a true departure and new beginning in so many ways.” In a way, it boldly goes where no “Star Trek” show has gone before.

Taking an old, familiar concept and creating something new for a contemporary audience is exactly what any print media looking to thrive needs to do. DAMAN will always stay true to its roots, but at the same time, it will continue to create its own new beginning over and over again. From new innovations in the realm of online content and social media to minor and major revamping in our core print editions, this magazine will, for sure, remain a relevant publication for 2020 and beyond.

And while my team and I return to the drawing board for the umpteenth time, we invite you to turn the page and delve into the latest in fashion, entertainment and so much more. Happy reading...
