Following the one and only
retirement from fashion a couple of months ago, the French designer has announced that Sacai’s Chitose
Abe will be the first in a series of guest designers invited to create Jean-Paul Gaultier’s next couture collection. “I admire her work, we have many things in common creatively and a similar vision of fashion. I am glad to give her complete freedom,” explained Gaultier about Abe’s appointment. The collection itself will debut in July for autumn 2020, as part of the couture fashion week.
