As the earliest Poinçon de Genève model from Louis Vuitton, the Tambour Moon Flying Tourbillon is the most recognizable Tambour Moon Shape, which in this case also comes with a skeletonized construction to showcase its technical side. The most interesting feature of this watch, apart from the flying tourbillon, is arguably its customizability. In short, the wearer can choose between three different plate combinations: rose gold, yellow
gold and white gold. More importantly, the wearer can also put their initials or favorite number on the LV circle plate to make it truly personal.
Voyager Tourbillon Vollant Poinçon de Genève
Louis Vuitton’s Voyager Tourbillon Vollant Poinçon de Genève is one of the slimmest flying-tourbillon watches ever made. This particular watch also presents a skeletonized design, so that the mechanical complication LV104 calibre—developed and assembled at La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton—can be viewed in all its glory. Up front, the metalized sapphire dial comes with the signature V logos, which is designed by GastonLouis Vuitton. Finally, the watch is completed in 18K pink gold set with 148 diamonds and one rose cut diamond in the crown.
Tambour Curve Flying Tourbillon Poinçon de Genève
The newly launched Tambour Curve Flying Tourbillon Poinçon de Genève is inspired by the Möbius strip. As such, the case has a stretched and elongated shape, while the timepiece deconstructs the circle to become a standalone shape in its own right. In yet another special touch, this watch is encased in an ultra-lightweight and resistant technical material commonly used in aeronautics called carbostratum. Furthermore, the composite material used in this particular watch was developed exclusively for Louis Vuitton and is produced by layering over 100 assorted sheets of carbon at random.
Moving on to aesthetics, the Tambour Curve Flying Tourbillon Poinçon de Genève comes in a lightweight and openwork design. In particular, this construction draws the eye to the titanium tourbillon carriage, which is inspired by one of the motifs of the famous Louis Vuitton Monogram. To top it off, the “LV” initials are perfectly integrated through a play on architectural transparencies.
Completed with an LV 108 Calibre movement—which comes with a power reserve of 80 hours and a tourbillon regulator—the watch also features an impressive flying tourbillon in the shape of the Monogram flower—which performs a complete rotation in one minute—at 9 o’clock.
