Ageometry of cornflower blue and tan tiles, patterned with yellow embroidery, marks the way for diners to Bistro Baron’s entrance. Through the elegant navy blue wooden door, visitors are greeted into the inner dining area. Quirky oval shaped ceiling lamps hang from above, casting warm illumination on the tastefully decorated interior. Accented wooden wall panels, intricate signage and burnished

gilded rails complete with cutesy pull curtains exude Parisian splendour.

Plush Valencia red booth sofas stretch along the length of the inner dining area, accompanied by stylish wooden chairs and squares of dining tables, carefully draped with neat expanses of pristine white linen cloth. Rich light maple flooring rounds off the warm and cosy décor. True to Parisian style, Bistro Baron offers diners casual outdoor seating. Just by the entrance, Valencia red umbrellas are attached to polished marble tables and stoic wooden chairs. A row of burnished balusters completes the charming street-side seating illusion.

Visitors looking to start their day with a little pick-me-up can try the acclaimed Dammann Frères loose teas. Exclusively imported from France, the famed tea maker

offers a sumptuous range of single origins, as well as delightful tea blends from master tea-blenders. For canapes, first-time guests are urged to try the mini croquet monsieur – a traditional French sandwich of unctuous ham slices with heavenly melted cheese slices, perfect for sharing. For a sweet sharing plate, order the millefeuille – a marvellously layered creation of whipped cream and house made wafer, served with fresh strawberries.

Guests looking for something stronger can make their way into Bistro Baron’s bar. Nestled in the back of the restaurant, the immaculate space exudes old world Parisian charm. A stretch of pristine white marble counter marks the bar area, where visitors can pull up one of the handsome red bar stools and have one of Bistro Baron’s friendly mixologists mix up a delightful panacea. The liquor cabinets are kept well stocked by the bartenders, who represented Indonesia in the Asia Bartenders Association Mixology challenge 2017.

Cocktail aficionados can browse from the menu of extensive cocktails, which features classics like old fashioneds and mojitos, as well as signature creations by Bistro Baron’s award-winning mixologists. Guests looking for something refreshing can try the Carnavale. The bar’s rendition of the classic Whisky Cobbler features Bulleit Bourbon, pineapple juice, chocolate bitters and fresh oregano. Sweet and delightfully zesty, it’s easy to see why the cocktail is popular amongst the clientele. Another crowd favourite is the Ron Fashioned. A potent concoction of aged rum, Choya Umeshu and Disaronno Amaretto, Bistro Baron’s take on the old fashioned delivers notes of plums, cherries and dark chocolate. A highlight for bar patrons is the Baron De Coco cocktail, the finalist entry for the Asia Bartenders Association Mixology challenge. Inspired by classics such as the Mai Thai and Pina Colada, the cocktail features Malibu rum, dark rum, orange and fresh coconut puree. Expect a decadent coconut potation, nutty and rich and decidedly tropical.
