The Ocean Champagne Bar opens at The Le­gian, Bali in Seminyak

On the cock­tail front, we visit the newly launched Ocean Champagne Bar at The Le­gian Bali to en­joy all the bub­bly good­ness. Then, we take a trip to Hong Kong to The Ma­callan Masters of Pho­tog­ra­phy event, where world-class whisky is com­bined with the art of film and pho­tog­ra­phy.

The Le­gian, Bali is a so­phis­ti­cated beach­front ho­tel where both in-house and walk-in guests have long en­joyed the lux­u­ri­ous fa­cil­i­ties on of­fer, in­dulging in the ex­cel­lent se­lec­tion of food and drinks cre­ated and served by the ho­tel's out­stand­ing culi­nary team.

The lo­ca­tion is prime Seminyak beach­front. The style and am­bi­ence through­out the day and into the evening is per­haps best summed up as be­ing nou­veau Bali; a chic blend of con­tem­po­rary el­e­gance with more than a mere pass­ing nod at the rich cul­tural her­itage of the is­land.

The beach­side cen­tre­piece is the mag­nif­i­cent palm-fringed in­fin­ity pool, which dur­ing the day is a hub of sun-seek­ing re­lax­ation, then be­comes a mag­net for sun­down­ers seek­ing to en­joy Seminyak's fa­mous sun­sets in their full glory. It is ad­ja­cent to this pool that The Le­gian, Bali has trans­formed one of its won­der­ful beach­side pavil­ions into The Ocean Champagne Bar.

Re­laxed and in­for­mal, the golden hours are nat­u­rally around sun­set, when guests can in­dulge in a glass or two and revel in the am­ber glow and laid­back mu­si­cal vibe as the sun dips gen­tly be­low the hori­zon. The chilled tunes are sup­ple­mented with live jazz ev­ery Wed­nes­day and Sun­day from 4.30PM un­til 7.30PM.

The Ocean Champagne Bar has com­fort­able re­sort chic rat­tan seat­ing com­ple­mented by out­door shaded daybeds and a large wooden deck. Open from 10AM un­til 10PM daily, it is some­thing a lit­tle dif­fer­ent, more stylish than a beach bar but more re­laxed than one would en­counter in a city. Build­ing upon the ex­cel­lent food and bev­er­age options, and tak­ing full ad­van­tage of the sub­lime beach­front lo­ca­tion, it is fair to say that The Le­gian, Bali has suc­ceeded in cre­at­ing a so­phis­ti­cated beach bar sup­ported by a drinks menu that is sure to im­press.

The bar is unashamedly champagne fo­cused with a no­table se­lec­tion on of­fer, in­clud­ing bot­tles from cov­eted cham­pagnes houses like Krug, Cristal, Dom Pérignon, Veuve Clic­quot and Bil­le­cart-Salmon; cham­pagnes that are sure to please even the most dis­cern­ing guests.

The Ocean Champagne Bar also of­fers Veuve Clic­quot's sig­na­ture Yel­low La­bel and Louis Roed­erer's Brut Pre­mier served by the glass as house cham­pagnes, along with a range of pros­ecco, other New and Old World sparkling wines and clas­sic cham­pag­nein­spired cock­tails like the Bellini.

While champagne may be the fo­cal point of the bar, a se­lec­tion of spe­cially cu­rated and ex­trav­a­gant caviars are avail­able, plus de­li­cious canapés and small bites spe­cially cre­ated to pair with the drink of your choice.
