Exquisite Taste - - Grapevine -

Jakarta's adventurous gourmands on the constant look out for unique food experiences should definitely pay the newly opened Lalla Jakarta a visit. Located on Jalan Gatot Subroto right next to Four Seasons Jakarta, Lalla Jakarta is a bright and contemporary family restaurant offering an inspired fusion of Latin American and popular local favourites. Occupying an expanse of ground floor space in the Capital Place building, Lalla Jakarta's décor is whimsical and cheery, with plenty of natural daylight, wide lofted ceilings and cutesy artistic touches such as the amazing wall display created specially by the famed Ruci Artspace.

Best enjoyed with family and friends, the dishes at Lalla Jakarta are a perfect marriage of soulful Latin American classics with innovative touches and contemporary flair. A brainchild of the burgeoning Mugi Rekso Abadi group, Lalla Jakarta sources only the finest and freshest local and imported ingredients, striving to craft the perfect meal for its customers. Take for example the ceviche – the classic Latin American dish of fresh fish with lime juice and herbs is the perfect starter to whet your appetite with its sweet, sour and fresh taste. For comfort to-share food, we like the Lalla Nachos, a gooey crispy and umami sinful delight. Seafood lovers are recommended to go for the king prawn Trinidad curry, a potent and rich inspired creation that is a favourite amongst the diners at the restaurant. A round of colourful drinks serve as the perfect pairing for a delightful meal at Lalla Jakarta. Personally, we like the cheery Capitano Colada but for those abstaining from alcohol we would suggest the lovely mango slush mocktail.
