Visitors to Vong Kitchen are welcomed into the chic and elegant space past the restaurant's handsome bar. For those waiting for their fashionabl­y late companions, do pull up a stool by the elliptical marble counter and treat yourself to the fantastic concoction­s courtesy of the restaurant's inventive mixologist.

Once you're ready, proceed to the marvellous main dining room, the bustling centre of the establishm­ent. One side of the restaurant is an elegant lattice of windows with scenic views of the verdant SCBD, another side is the heart of the restaurant – a state-ofthe-art modern open kitchen. Don't let the grandeur of the space intimidate you, the food menu curated by the Michelin-starred Chef Jean-Georges Vongericht­en and his son Cédric is approachab­le and best enjoyed with adventurou­s friends. For starters, tuck into the delightful foie gras brûlée, a unique and delicious dish featuring a flambéed sugar- topped foie gras pâté served with papaya jam and rambutan. As for the main, the hearty 500g Australian rib eye is a good choice, while to close, order the chef's signature molten chocolate cake, it might very well be the best dessert you've ever had.
